How It Works

An MCS approved installer will fit Solar PV Panels to your roof without any up-front cost. You will immediately start to save up to 50% on your electricity bills and as you own the system, you also receive Feed-in Tariff (FIT) payments for 20 years.

The installer will also arrange a 10 year 'Solar Loan' through Hitachi Capital on your behalf. You would then pay off the loan using the bill savings and Feed-in Tariff payments that your Solar Panels will generate. This is a much better alternative to previous Free Solar Panel schemes.

In many cases the savings and earnings will be higher than the loan repayments. In some cases you may have to make a small contribution, particularly if you live further North and/or have a smaller system installed. A surveyor will advise if there is likely to be an excess or shortfall.

Even if you do have to make a contribution towards the loan repayments, energy costs are increasing so it won't be long before the savings and earnings fully cover the loan. And of course, after 10 years the loan is paid off and you receive the full benefit of bill savings and Feed in Tariff payments for another 10 years. A typical household could earn up to £18,000 over 20 years!
